Can't use Natal unless you are standing? That's pretty much a deal breaker for a core gamer. That takes it into casual territory.

The point is that you can imagine your non-gamer family and friends doing that for a few hours a secession with something like kinect sports, but could you imagine spending four hours a day playing Gears of War standing tall?

I am not saying they marketed it to the mainstream crowd because of this, and I am sure that's where they would have marketed it regardless (after the success of the Wii), but in the end, they have little choice.

In short, that sucks intensely.  It completely eliminates it as something I ever would want.  My hope is that they'll fix it as some point.

I mean I wouldn't mind using it from time to time for a few hours a week for the more mass market games. But yea, there is no way in hell this can replace a regular controller now.

Also, the price suddenly seems very high.

Your last line was my reply to your first.  If someone gives it to me as a present, yes, I wouldn't mind using it casually now and then.  There is no way I would ever buy it.

Konami was on a roll announcing the new Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid games along with showing more of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and then they had to go and announce a 360 exclusive Castlevania titled Harmony of Despair.  Fuck you Konami.  What is the fucking point in making a 2D Castlevania title a 360 exclusive?  Games like that already have a niche audience, wouldn't putting it on PS3 as well benefit you more?  Assholes.

Yeah that's actually kinda been out there for a while.  They've been talking about it for a few months now

MOH 2010 Reboot's MP did NOTHING for me, from what I saw on G4TV...

EDIT:
Craig Sullivan of Criterion is on G4 and showing off the new NFS: Hot Pursuit.
There's 100 miles of open-world to race on.

EDIT 2:
G4TV is showing off FEAR 3.

EDIT 3:
Crysis 2 was shown off on G4TV - awesome-looking mechs, aliens, and destructible environments. Hell yeah!

EDIT 4:
G4TV is showing off Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood - Multiplayer portion of the game.

EDIT 5:
From GameSpot's chat w/ Peter Molyneux and demo of Fable 3....
Molyneux does mention that iyou can import your Fable 2 save into Fable 3.
By doing so, you'll be the son or daughter of your F2 character.

Seriously, Peter...w/ a feature like that, you really should port Fable 2 to the PC...

Hey Rez fans! Are you saddened that Child of Eden is being shown for Kinect? Well I have some good news:
Quote
I complained to him that all of Kinect’s other software is uninspiring, but noted that Eden alone would make it worth my money.

Mielke [James Mielke, one of the game’s producers] nodded. “Lots of people were saying that — except, you don’t even need Kinect to play it.”

I feel the same way about Wii (and all motion controls). Apparently the new badass looking Donkey Kong Country game uses waggle similar to how NSMB Wii does (shake the controller to spin the propeller hat!). Was it that hard to bind one more action to a button?

That's exactly my line of thought.  At least Microsoft doesn't make the majority of Xbox games.  Nintendo dominates Wii software production, and they push waggle and other hardware gimmicks mercilessly.  That's the kind of shit I don't want to see on the Xbox at all.  At least the Wiimote works well from a chair.  Not to mention that the Wii *has* controllers.  This business of waving around in the ether, in lieu of tangible movement hardware, has yet to prove itself to anyone, especially me.

What was everybody's favorite games that they saw at E3 2010?

Rage and Witcher 2 were the two that I thought stole the show.

I unfortunately did not see any game at E3.

Look at some of the links I've provided or check any of the big online gaming sites - a lot went on and was shown off. Go check some stuff out. :)

EDIT:
From the IGN vid on Fallout: New Vegas, they show-off that you can pickpocket people's pockets - hopefully undetected, if you have a high pickpocket, sneaking, and explosives skill - and then drop a C4 explosive into their pocket. Then, you can go wherenever, take your detonator, and then set it off. LOL.

I think I was more impressed with the 3DS than anything else.  I'm excited to see what cool stuff the platform will bring to us.  Even without the 3d stuff, the system itself appears to be very powerful.

And finally an analog stick!

What was everybody's favorite games that they saw at E3 2010?

The ones that stood out from the rest:

Rage
Bulletstorm
Dead Space 2
Brink (didn't really see anything new from this, but I still really want it)

And other ones I'm looking forward to, or was impressed by:

Gears of War 3 (pridictable, but still looked nice)
Twisted Metal (wish I had a PS3)
Rayman
Kirby's Epic Yarn
Donkey Kong Country

Nothing impressed me as much as Rage though. Altogether I've seen that walkthrough about a dozen times. 2-3 times each from 4-5 different sites. I can't wait for that game to come out.

Rage and Witcher 2 - they both blew my mind.

Yeah, I think Rage looks amazing. No doubt in my mind, Rage looks it is shaping-up to be the best thing we've seen from Id - especially on the SP front - in years. I wonder what they're going to do w/ the MP portion of it, since they are not speaking on the MP yet...
When I saw Rage, I just couldn't believe how great-looking that game technically was - and that was the X360 version they were showing off...  :o
Oh, them Ghost Clan faction enemies are bad-ass w/ their acrobatics, using the environment and all to move around - hehe.
Some of the characters and environments look like they have more personality to them than what we've ever seen before from Id.

Overall, in general, I was impressed for the most part w/ what was shown-off for games at E3 2010.

The Fable 3 stuff IGN and Gamespot shown was a lot better than what G4 showed-off.

I thought Crysis 2 looked pretty good, from what I saw for vids and stuff. :)
I thought it was a pretty good E3 2010 show, overall.

And I still have been digging around sites and adding good footage to the front of the thread. I was underwhelmed by Fable 3's coverage from G4 and disappointed...
...Until then I saw the LONG interview/demo from GameSpot and IGN w/ Molyneux - that's what I was looking for. :)

Hehe...you know Molyneux.

That's not what sold me on it.

I like the whole idea of everything - skills, weapons, equipment, etc - is upgradable and can even level-up (as you use it in action).

The whole thing of doing quests and being able overthrow the tyrannical king (who is your brother) sounds good, once you get enough followers to support your cause - and then, that's the 1/2 way point (who knows how long/short the game is). Then, 2nd half of the game - you're in control of the kingdom and do what you want - to take care/ruin the kingdom.

It sounds as if he's taking some of the great stuff of Fable series and Black & White 2 - and kinda merging them together.

I gotta admit - being able to marry a Co-Op player online sounds...odd...hehe.

Well, the slims may sport further integration and even smaller chips, maybe 45 nm like the PS3 slim?

Found something.  I read a story like this one before, which is how I learned about this.  Yeah, the Jasper in a smaller enclosure would not be a good thing.

Edit:  Here's a new story on the slim.

From good speculation to reality:

The real Valhalla CPU/GPU/eDRAM (on one chip)  Anandtech got a system from E3 that they were allowed to get into.  As they said, 45 nm is the magic number.  Looking good.

It will no longer red ring because it has no red LEDs around the ring.  Instead, it will be a red dot of death, and the console will auto-shutdown.

Did you see this part?

Here's what you'll need to use the Kinect sensor:

    * Xbox 360 console
    * 6 feet (1.8 meters) between you and your television for play space†

I don't know about you or the majority of gamers, but I don't have 6 feet of open space in front of my TV.

I don't have that kind of space either.  I *sit* 2 feet away from a 23" screen to play games.  That isn't going to change for any reason, because I like it this way.  If I got showered with wealth tomorrow, I'd simply get much better furniture, surroundings and equipment to *sit* playing 2 feet away from a 23-26" display.
