This link is to the New Zealand store (stuff shows up there first), but it should be in the US store later today.

The Witcher: Versus is launching with a 99 cent price. Its basically a port of the web game, and in fact uses the same back end so its the same login and you can play against people playing the web version.

It looks like tomorrow, March 26th, Gameloft is going to have these games on sale for 99 cents.

Starfront Collision (aka, Starcraft)
Eternal Legacy (aka, Final Fantasy)
Sacred Odyssey (aka, Zelda)

Hopefully I can connect to some wifi tomorrow on the train (or before I get on the train. Or if these prices drop sometime tonight). I want the Zelda and FF ones.

Zelda one looks pretty cool, I might be curious about that.  Not that I need more games.

Also, why the fuck did I have to see this, and why does it have to be four bucks?

PopCap has created a new division called 4th and Battery, which is basically where they take their experimental ideas and prototypes that aren't turned into full-on PopCap games and release them so people can play them anyway. Their first game under this label is Unpleasant Horse and should be out in the next couple days. Free!
Quote
The good news is that you are a horse with wings. Nobody doesn’t like those! The bad news is that you are a, well, rather unpleasant horse with wings. How unpleasant? Glad you asked. Get this: Your idea of a good time is bouncing from cloud to cloud and on to the backs of other, cuter flying ponies, who will thus be sent plummeting to a gruesome, bone-chewing demise, thanks to an unfortunately placed series of meat grinders on the ground below. (Really kind of a tragedy of civil engineering.) All is well and good for you, though—unless you happen to miss a cloud or pony, and then, guess what? Those meat grinders don’t play favorites. So keep those wings flapping, don’t miss a jump, and keep a lookout for cool powerups to keep you flying longer and higher!

World of Goo has been on the iPad for a while, but later today the iPhone edition will be released! There will be a promo launch price of 99 cents, which is pretty sweet. I already have it for PC, but it might be fun to play on a touchscreen.

Two freebies.

Tehra Dark Warrior is a hack and slashy kinda game.

Beyond Ynth is a puzzle game where you play a bug rotating boxes from the inside. Sounds funky.

I traveled by train today and played a bunch of free games on here that you posted. I've traveled by train a few times but today was just me alone with my games, it was enjoyable. By the way, Knight Defense is one of the cooler games out there, especially if you like chess (and even if you are bad at it - you just have to know the fundamentals. Really solid strategy game).

Ok, these aren't so much deals as totally awesome so I'm telling you about it.

Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP: $4.99 Universal for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch
Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP Micro: $2.99 iPhone and iPod Touch only

These games are exactly the same, only the more expensive one will take advantage of your iPad...if you have one. If you don't and don't plan on buying one, grab the cheaper version. Don't think you're missing out since the game was originally designed for an iPhone in the first place.

But this game looks awesome as hell. I don't think I'll wait for a sale.

(Ps, this was made by the dudes that did Critter Crunch and that puzzle Might & Magic game)

Impressions of Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP:

Its pretty awesome. It has a lot in common with traditional point & click adventure games, but with far less inventory stuff to deal with. Its atmospheric as all hell, a great visual style, sound and music that goes with the whole thing. I'd say its worth it just for the unique experience of it all. The game is broken up into segments with a sort of intermission between them. I've done two so far and it says I am 40% complete or so.

Only complain I have right now is I wish this was on PC so I could see it on a nice big screen. I LOVE how this game looks.

Galaxy On Fire 2 is pretty sweet. The first few missions you are forced to do, then it seems to break off into story and freelance missions. Right now I'm waiting for some convoy to show up so I can hitch a ride with them so I'm going to around the the various space stations taking odd jobs like shooting pirates or transporting cargo. I'm also mining asteroid so make some quick cash to upgrade my stuff. The tilt controls for steering work really well and so far I find them easier to handle than the on screen stick.

A demo I grabbed today is uCurling. Yeah, a curling game. I think this does a good job of teaching the fundamentals of curling even if you have no idea how the sport is played. The demo is singleplayer only and its a series of puzzles where your goal is to earn a certain amount of points in as few throws as possible. Each puzzle has a 3 star rating depending on how well you do. A $3 in-app purchase will unlock more SP puzzles as well as multiplayer. Only thing I don't know is if its online multiplayer or pass and play. Anyway, worth a shot if you're interested in curling. Its fun.

Also free is Biolab Disaster, which looks kinda cool.

Paperboy: Special Delivery is free. You all remember Paperboy, right?

Also some more details about Order & Chaos Online have come out. First, if you're in Canada you can go buy the game right now. Guess they are using Canada as their beta testers. Other important info is the pricing (its an MMO, you see). The game is $6.99 and comes with a 3 month subscription. After that you have a couple choices. $0.99/mo, $1.99/3mo, $2.99/6mo. Thats pretty cheap considering the usual MMO prices. I wonder if the gameplay will make it worth it.

Ok, we need to share usernames on this one because it could be hilariously fun. Prose with Bros is a game where you and your opponent are given a set of 50 random words and you must construct the best sentence you can with them. Then your lines will be sent into the community to be voted on to determine the winner.

Part of the fun is voting on other peoples lines, which are read to you. When you compose you can add pauses and such for maximum comedy value.

So yes, we must join forces and play. You can play against random people but thats a little less fun, especially when some of them are idiots just trying to use as many words as possible. Its like adjective soup.

I linked to the free version with ads, but there is an ad-free version you can buy.

So far I'm winning on my first prose.

Me: "My dangly beef delights women"
vs
Other dude: "I just admire women because you uncontrollably whip that greasy beef"

Yes, everyone tries to make the dirtiest phrase as possible. Which does get kinda old when you're voting on other peoples phrases. There are two problems I see right now. First is something they can fix: when it presents two phrases to vote on there is no "skip" option. I can see why since some of these are so dumb most people would skip them and the whole idea is for people to vote on these things. Its just some of them are so dumb that picking one over the other is meaningless since they are so terrible.

Which is of course the other problem. Give people 50 words to choose from and they think they have to use as many as possible. The best phrases are the ones that make more sense without a lot of extra shit in there.

Well I don't care how I do because this is amazing - "I may trick her after dubiously rubbing baconnaise around it first"

That was my first attempt. I hope whoever this is beats me, because I want to see some awesomeness.

Edit: Idol, I know what you mean about the skip button after reading most of these. They are horrible. I wish that I could vote neither.
