Note, you can fire and evict that person with no penalty, and a new one will move in (hopefully with stats you want).

Also, the game can be hilarious.

Not really a deal, but Pocket Academy was released by Kairosoft (Game Dev Story/Hot Springs Story devs). This time you're running a school. $3.99

For Android users they released Grand Prix Story that has you managing a race team. Looks cool, hoping for an iOS port.

Street Fighter IV Volt released tonight. Its basically the same as the previous SF4 on iOS, but it has 3 extra characters and (more importantly) wifi and bluetooth multiplayer. It is currently 99 cents and will go up $1 every day until it tops out at $6.99, its final price. So if you want it, grab it asap.

Kard Combat is out now. Free download gets you a selection of 40 cards, the first few levels of the Tower mode for each mage type, and as much multiplayer as you want. In-app purchases are 99 cents for each mage or $2.99 for all 4. This unlocks the full Tower mode which lets you unlock all the cards for the mages. There is also a $9.99 option that has everything unlocked straight away but that seems like a waste.

Theres a big thread over on TouchArcade about a game called Deadlock coming out this week. Its a top-down dual-stick shooter but with a Counter Strike/Modern Warfare theme. 8 player multi with DM, TDM, and Capture and Hold modes. The cool part is since its multiplayer they want to build up the community quickly so they are launching the game for free this Thursday. They dont say how long it will be free but Ill try post when its available. It looks fun.

For the Tiny Tower addicts here, theres a new update:
Quote
Update 1.2 should be rolling out!

- Rename your floors! You can now rename floors by tapping on the white box in each floor's menu screen.
- New VIP! The Real Estate Agent VIP will move a new bitizen into the apartment of your choosing.
- 5 new businesses to discover!
- Tap the top of the screen to auto scroll to the top of your tower.
- Attempted to fix issue where floors are stuck in construction.
- Fixed some sound issues.
- Game is now saved more often.
- Improved More Bux store connectivity.
- Game data now saved in un-encrypted device backups.
- Added warning to game reset.
- Changed dream job reward to 1 bux.
The new VIP and renaming floors will be awesome. Reducing the dream job bonus to 1 bux kinda sucks.

Gesundheit! is coming to iOS! What was a cute little PC game made with Adventure Game Studio apparently got picked up by Konami and is coming next week. 99 cents for iPhone, $1.99 for iPad.

Toucharcade has a preview for Mage Gauntlet, which is the new game from Rocketcat (Hook Worlds). Want.

Might want to ignore this one. Word on the street (translation: forums) is that the controls suck.

Gesundheit! is out and currently half off at 99 cents. I bought it straight away since I really enjoyed the old PC version. Glee!

Groove Coaster just released and its also on a launch sale of 99 cents. A touch based rhythm game and everyone seems to love it. I need to find a video or something before I jump on it.

There is no justice in the world. Why Angry Birds was anything more than the fucking tiny, fast-fading blip on the radar that it deserved to be is a total mystery to everyone, I suspect most especially to the people who made it. It proves that 90% of anyone's success isn't about doing the job right or providing a superior product, it's about complete and utterly random luck.

Quakecon starts today, so its time for some id Software sales!

Wolfenstein 3D Classic Platinum $0.99
Doom Classic $1.99
Doom II RPG $0.99
Doom Resurrection $1.99

These are regular price, but still cheap:
Rage $0.99
Rage HD $1.99
Wolfenstein RPG $0.99

Woah woah, hold off on buying Rage for iOS. It might go free soon! Once they get 100,000 likes on Facebook, that is. I'm sure they will get there.

I kind of regret getting Rage HD.  There's only three levels so it's a very short game.  Graphically impressive though, but not much else.

League of Evil is free for today. Platformer that people compare to Super Meat Boy...which sounds like a horrible thing to put on a touchscreen device but for free Ill try it.

EDIT

Its not a bad game, but I was right...touch screen controls are just a bitch. This would be way more fun with real buttons.

Nice find idol.  Looks really fun.  The game only comes with three songs though (three difficulties each), so purchasing the music packs may be necessary to get more out of the game.

There is now a Lite/demo version of Mega Mall Story. Check it out if you haven't bought the game. Seeing as how Kairosofts last game hit 99 cents a month after release, I think I can hold out for that inevitable sale.

One game I've been playing recently is Dice Soccer. Free download, no ads, but there are IAPs if you want to hurry things along. So far I havent felt the need to buy anything.

Basically the game boils down to dice (duh). You have a team of 7 players, each one represented by a six sided die. 3 in the front line, 3 defense, and a goalie. Uh, I guess the easiest way to explain this is to go through a simple match.

Game starts and its the kickoff, both teams front line rolls. Whoever ends up with the highest number gains possession. Say you win, you have the ball. Now you all roll again. If you win you move further down field, if you lose you hand the ball to the other team. Say you win and now its your front line vs the enemy defensive line. Same rules as before, you win you move up, you lose you hand the ball over. You win you move up to the goalie. This is a one on one dice roll with your center vs the goalie. You win, GOOOOOOAAAAAAAL!, you lose it gets passed to the defensive line and you move back.

Theres a lot of possession changes going on. If you and your opponent alternate who wins then you never move down field. I've had a lot of games so far end up in a 0-0 tie because we just kept passing the ball back and forth and moving up and down the field, never getting to the goal. So...its like real soccer! :D

Players on differentiated by their dice. Its not a typical d6, for example one guy might have a die with 1,1,2,2,3,3 as its sides. Some players have special abilities that trigger when you roll certain numbers or totals. Some of these abilities let you re-roll a die, or double the number on a die, or shield a die to prevent your opponent from adding negative effects to it, etc.

There are 80 players to unlock, which you can do by meeting certain goals/achievements or flat out paying money for them (thats the in app purchase thing). Once unlocked you have to pay in-game gold to be able to hire them and make them available to your team.

The main complaint I have right now is its pretty slow to start. You dont get a lot of money per match unless you do well, but its hard to do well with a weak team. So you kinda have to grind out some achievements and money to unlock some better dudes. Also there are some extra animations and things that feel like they are slowing the whole game down. Luckily the developer has said they are going to speed those things up so it doesn't feel like such a slog.

But yeah, its pretty cool and free so check it out.

You can make a fake iTunes account in any country pretty easily, without buying anything. Just switch your itunes to whatever country, find a free app to "buy" and go through the steps. You should be able to do "gift cards" as a payment option so you dont have to fill in a credit card or anything. Fake address and you're good to go. Just make a throwaway gmail account for it.

I've got US, Japanese, and Canadian itunes accounts. I just cant buy anything from the Japanese or Canadian ones unless I import gift cards from those countries (or get credit cards from them...thats not happening). And all the accounts can work on the same ipod, so yay!

Yeah, the iTunes store set my region to the Middle East store based on my credit card billing address, even though I created that account while I was in Canada.
