They haven't commented on this, but I don't think they are poking fun at FOX, but are poking fun at the rumors that South Korean companies they outsource to are so deplorable.

South Korea is one of the largest economies in the world, with high standards of living, literacy, and better child labor and work condition laws than many of its neighbors, at least from what I know. It isn't China, and it isn't Taiwan, where conditions can actually be atrocious.

Keep in mind that the South Korean studios and companies are credited at the end of each Simpsons episode anyway, so it isn't like it is some big secret.

That's what I think anyway. Until they comment, who knows.

Mediaite called the sequence "a jaw-dropping critique of global corporate licensing, worker exploitation and over-the-top dreariness of how western media companies (in this case, 20th Century Fox) takes advantage of outsourced labor in developing countries."

In a nutshell that's how I see it.  Add that something seemingly so all-American is outsourced to a foreign facility paying wages too low for Americans out of work to contemplate, and I simply have to take off my hat and bow to Bansky and Groenig.

There you go:

Q.

Has Banksy’s criticism made you reconsider any of the ways you do things at “The Simpsons” in terms of producing the show or its merchandise?
A.

I have to say, it’s very fanciful, far-fetched. None of the things he depicts are true. That statement should be self-evident, but I will emphatically state it.
Q.

A lot of the show’s animation is produced in South Korea, but not under those conditions.
A.

No, absolutely not.
