Topic: Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception announced

First off, obviously the title is not “Uncharted 3: World of Deceit,” as has been rumored here and there on the Internet. Still: Good guessing with the “deceit” thing. According to Naughty Dog’s creative director Amy Hennig, the theme of deception plays out in multiple ways throughout the threequel, from Drake doing the deceiving to Drake being deceived to some mysterious deception about Drake’s very identity. The story focuses on the hero’s relationship with his mentor and father figure, fan fave Victor “Sully” Sullivan, and has him searching for a legendary lost city that will ultimately take him to the Arabian Peninsula and the vast wasteland of the Rub’ al Khali Desert, also known as the Empty Quarter. The second game is leaps and bounds better than the first, if you can even fathom that.

The first game I wasn't that big of a fan of.  It was all set in one environment and it does get boring after a while.  The second one is phenomenal enough to warrant multiple playthroughs, which the first could not do for me.

I'm sure I've made it evidently clear how much I can't stand aiming with a gamepad over the years.. This is the one game I accepted and thoroughly enjoyed despite that!

The original was probably my favorite game on the PS3, even despite some annoyances with the combat system. I can't wait to play the second, and will definitely get the third.

Yea the first game isn't perfect, but it does a lot of the stuff very well. As Xessive mentioned, the shooting, but other adventury stuff I hate, it does superbly well. I have to be honest, when I didn't have a PS3, I used to wonder if the first Uncharted was praised more out of fanboyism, but it is a unique game that does innovate in a few ways.

I hadn't even heard of Naughty Dog. Was Uncharted their first game? I should get back to it, like I should a dozen other games.

Naughty Dog made the original Jak and Daxter games on the PS2. The first one was a brilliant 3D platformer pretty early in the system's life. The others tried to do some other stuff and I'm not sure if they totally came out better for it.
