I liked the movie, and thought it was a throwback to the early Connery Bond films. When Craig beats the shit out of someone, you believe it, unlike Roger Moore, or maybe even the lithe Pierce Brosnan. The style also involves more dramatic plot and less mindless action. Bond comes off looking more like a real person than a near superman. There's still too much survival by luck, though, a problem shared by all the Bond movies I can remember. Even the luckiest guy on Earth wouldn't survive in 007's shoes for more than 3 such missions.
