Gulf memories
« on: Thursday, July 28, 2011, 09:42:24 AM »
http://blogs.tribune.com.pk/story/7138/memories-of-the-gulf-war/

So the good news is that the editor if the tribune mag, liked my work enough to offer me a full time position as a reviewer. He had to work on it a bit. :p

Ok so the blog above is pretty thin, but I had to fit in 800 words. Would appreciate everyone reading, rating, and sharing on twitter and facebook.

I want to preface this by saying that I mean this in the kindest way possible...

Your lobbying totally reminds me of when we were still on the IGN boards and you were trying to lure people over to AOG.  Haha!

The article is nice.  I like how you tell the stories not like an observer, but as anecdotes.  But I don't feel it is my place to comment as I was safe and sound in the U.S. just cheering on our troops to kick Saddam's ass.  It wouldn't be fair of me to say anything because people over there actually were in danger.

First of all, sorry about the first message. Was written from my phone at the cinema.

haha Yea Scott, I know I am pimpin' my articles and it makes me laugh because you are right, it does feel like the AOG days.

I hope I am not annoying you guys too much with all of it. It just helps my career when my blogs get hits. :P

And thanks... yea those were scary times.

edit:

I will be reviewing movies, books, and TV shows, mostly.

Oh and thanks guys. It is just a dream to be able to write. Makes life easier to cope with. If you guys have any ideas for blogs, do let me know. Maybe I can attract editors from other local papers. Also, the editor of the tribune magazine is open to experimental stuff, so again, if anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it.

Awesome news, man! Congrats!

Yo, I was in that war! haha I was born in Kuwait and at 9 years-old I too had to go through that clusterf**k! It was the first time I saw a dead body. Several actually.
