Physical Media Game Deals!
« on: Sunday, October 16, 2011, 06:36:19 AM »
Toys R Us is having a Buy 2 Get 1 Free game sale on nearly everything, no preorders except for Batman Arkham City.

Man I'm so tempted, Batman Arkham City + Space Marine + Mario Galaxy 2 or LA Noir... gaah! I probably shouldn't. I don't have enough time to play all those. Though I could go for some cheaper games.

Nice deal for console gamers, Pyro!  ;D

You know, I think Pyro's onto something - this could be a good idea here to turn this into a whole BIG thread full of nothing but retail deals.
We already have one for digital/online deals - so, why not also have one also for retail deals?

What do you guys think?

Yea that's what I had in mind when I made it.

Anyway after looking at my budget, I can't justify spending that much. I could afford it but barely. Then I thought about getting some cheaper titles, Shadows of the Damned + LA Noir + 1600 XBLA card so I could grab Bastion.

We all need to win the lottery or something - wouldn't that be awesome! :)
So many games [especially brand-new expensive one], yet so little time!

Hmm, I was going to pass on the buy 2 get 1 sale because I'm broke, but then I could get some greatest hits for fairly cheap. Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, and Punch-Out for $40 total? Not bad.

One retail deal to look into is buying Arkham City at kmart. If you are signed up as a "shop your way" member there (free), you'll get a $30 coupon to use on future gaming purchases when you buy AC during the first week its out.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood for PS3 $10 at Best Buy.

If you enjoyed AC2 and haven't checked out Brotherhood yet then this is your best opportunity, really fucking good game.

YMMV -> RAGE for PC, X360, or PS3 [Retail Box] at Target = $30.
If you got a nearby Target, if interested, you might wanna go take a look, give them a call, or something...

I still haven't played the game because of the price. I wish I could get it at $30!

Same here.. In the UAE its price finally dropped to $50 USD! It used to be $60 USD.

At $30 I'd totally jump on it.. I won't play it for a while, what-with Skyrim and all.

I'm still so pissed at that game that I would say that's a bad deal because any sales are a validation of its existence.

Gameplay is pretty fun, but they cut Samus' balls off.

What sucked about M?

It screwed up Metroid, and Samus herself.  Game Informer spells out some details.

I wouldn't even say it was that great. The actual mechanics of the minute to minute gameplay were well enough, but the level design was just sad.

Best Buy's deal of the day is Sin and Punishment:  Star Successor for Wii.  $4.99

An absolute no-brainer at that price.

Best Buy
WARNING - YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY on what's on sale and what specific BB stores are involved in this:
From CAG, it's said Some Collector's Editions for games are showing up at 50% off at Best Buy at some stores.
Might wanna go look at your local store and see what's 50% off, if there's any CE's that are 50% off at that store...

Best Buy Summer Blowout sale

Highlights for me:

Assassins Creed: Revelations - $10
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine - $10
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - $10

Serious temptation to actually visit this brick-and-mortar.

Deus Ex: HR was amazing on the PC.
Hope the console version turned out (technically) good.

I wish ACR was $10 on the PC...

EDIT:
Ugh, their PC list for this Summer Blowout kinda sucks...

AWESOME PYRO I WILL GO INTO MY NEAREST AMAZON RETAIL STORE AND BUY IT.

OH WAIT AMAZON IS AN ONLINE RETAILER!

Thankfully Best Buy also has it for 15 bucks.  I'd rather buy it from Amazon though.

That's a tough call....b/c you're buying a Retail Box via a (Digital) Online Only Store. :P
I'd say it could go in either Digital Deal or Retail Deal Threads. [shrug]

I often put those Retail Box deals from Digital Online Stores (Newegg, Amazon) in Digital Deal Thread....and just list also that it's a Retail Box Deal and if there's Free Shipping (or not). :P

Still - GOW3 X360 for $15 sounds like a great deal, for console gamers.
Nice catch! :)

Warning: YMMV

See the CAG Thread.

Toys R Us has been dumping PC games on clearance dirt cheap.
So, if you got a local one - you might want to check it out or give them a call..

I picked up COD: MW3 (PC) for $10 today!
Some people have reportedly found retail boxes of D3, SC2, BF3!

From my post on CAG
Quote
Just checked out a TRU in Brockton, MA (right near Westgate Mall).
Here's some of what I saw there for PC games at $10:
Skyrim
COD: Modern Warfare 3 --> I took the last one there, so sorry guys; only game I picked-up there.
AC: Revelations
Batman: Arkham City
Sims 3: Pets expansion
Sims 3: Ambitions expansion
Diablo II: Battle Chest
Starcraft 1: Battle Chest
WOW: Battle Chest
WOW: Cataclysm
RAGE
