Rainbow 6 Patriots Announced!
« on: Friday, November 04, 2011, 08:18:03 AM »
Game Informer has the introductory article.

Ubisoft has been screwing up a lot with some of the Tom Clancy IPs but if this is anything like the R6 Vegas series I'll be very happy.

The footage is conceptual and gives a good idea of what Ubisoft are planning. Overall, I see great potential and I hope they can pull it through.

Expected release date: 2013.

A little QTE heavy, but that looked pretty good otherwise. I was a little disappointed that the player switched to someone else after he got out of the car. Trying to play awhile and avoid enemy fire while holding R2 would have been stressful (in a good way).

Geeez, that sequence should be IN the game.
This game looks like it's contextual-heavy - especially in the first bit, before it switches the player over to the R6 guys.

First part seemed a lot like Heavy Rain.  When it switched perspectives, that's what that actual game will probably be like.

Looks interesting for sure.  It's too bad that R6 no longer looks or plays like a tactical shooter anymore.

I could definitely see this becoming an attempt at a Call of Duty competitor. I don't mind that so much, as long as the quality is there and they at least try some things of their own.
