Topic: Vancouver has so many Asians

As a man who wants to date Asians, it is like paradise.  Too bad I live about 2 hours south across the border in WA and I don't know a single person in Vancouver.  Pro tips for meeting Asian Canadians?  Do they like nerdy white American men?

Oh, this is interesting.  I live in Vancouver, but I'm really not into Asians.  I can, however, offer some of the help you need.  Yes, they do indeed like nerdy white men.  I'm not sure about American, specifically, but I can't see it being a problem.

Now, why is it that you like Asian women?  This is a serious question, because I find that most guys who like asian women specifically do so for one of two reasons (or both), and one of them is usually a letdown for them.

The most commonly visible stereotype on this side of the world is "old White with young Asian chick" and it is commonly presumed that old White guys pay. A lot.

I'm also curious why most white guys say they like Asians.  I haven't put much thought into it, to be honest.  On the whole, I just find a significantly greater proportion of Asians attractive versus other races.  For instance, I'm probably attracted to like 25% of white girls I see, 15% of black girls, I see, and like 45% of Asian girls I see.

Edit: also I've done the "fresh off the boat" thing and the born/raised in America thing.  I don't have a preference.  So I don't think it is a cultural thing or a personality thing for me.

What are both of those?

1.) The physical characteristics. I guess there's an exotic aspect, but dudes be all like "I like asians", not "I like Asians and Hatians and East Indians".  I think the general reason is that the average young asian woman has a more slender body type and more "girlish" features than the average young non-asian woman.  This is my theory.

2.) The social upbringing. I've worked with, gone to school with, and know of a fair number of guys who like asian women, not only because "they're hot" but because they're more "submissive" and "know how to treat a man".  I don't know if it's actually true, but I've heard it multiple times and I could see it.  This is the one where I think guys eventually find out is wrong in some aspect. It's also probably the less common reason, and by no means one that I think you'd subscribe to.  Also, it's weird and creepy.

I met a young Asian girl on a trip Sandy and I took recently (not to Vancouver).  She was from Vancouver, and was there with her family.  I was wondering why a high-school girl was speaking to me so eloquently at the table, then she said she had just graduated from Harvard.

Harvard!  No wonder guys like them.  They look so ridiculously young and fresh.  Her name was Ling Ling, as if the stereotype wasn't strong enough already.

Hahahaa. Harvard.  I went to a school with a high asian population and had two home-stay girls with us in my early highschool days.  The work ethic of young asian women is absolutely amazing.

Jennie (not an Asian) always teases me that I have a thing for Asian women.  I always denied it.  I mean sure, I find some Asian girls attractive but that's not really anything noteworthy because I feel like I find a pretty equal ratio of women in the different races attractive.

Then I saw the Psy "Gangnam Style" video.  Those chicks are all scorching hot!  Maybe she was on to something...

Some cultures really struggle with beauty though.  For instance: Mexicans.  Other than Salma Hayek, is there a good looking Mexican woman?  They all look like they got run over by a bus.

The common Mexican people are mostly indigenous (once called "Indians"), and they tend to be smaller and uglier.  Poverty and disenfranchisement are brutal realities.  But the European (mostly Spanish) Mexicans are more in sync with modern ideals of attractiveness.  Like North America, Latin America is heterogeneous.  It's a New World thing.

Nonetheless, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I've always been attracted to Latinas.. and Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Pakistani et al.) chicks.. Arabic chicks.. White chicks.. Okay fine, every ethnicity. I suppose I can find beauty anywhere.

Oddly enough, the body types and some facial features resemble several other peoples in completely different regions. Working class people from "third-world" countries such as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Tibet, Phillipines, Laos, Cambodia, and even Southern India all have very similar physiological characteristics. Despite being from vary ethnicity. It's kinda wonderful.

Anyway, my point is that hot chicks can rise in any ethnicity!

Oh, and Xessive, I'm not speaking of Latias in general.  I'm talking about Mexicans specifically.  There are tons of smoking hot Puerto Ricans, Cubans, Colombians, Dominicans, Venezuelans, Costa Ricans, Peruvians, Spaniards, etc.  But there is a huge dearth of attractive Mexicans.

And yes, Eva Longoria is Mexican and hot.  I'd forgotten about her.  Looks like she's a mix of Spanish and Mayan.  Ok, so there are two hot Mexicans women I'm aware of.  That picture shows some nice legs, but I'm a face guy and that picture is too small to see anything in that regard.

It's probably all about perspective.  I, for instance, am not attracted to Asians in the least. I understand that many are attractive, but they just don't do anything for me.   I've seen a girl from far away, been all like "Damn!" gotten closer, realized she's Asian, and totally lost interest.

I still hadn't watched it... just did. I have to say, that was a great deal more entertaining than I expected it to be. And yay hot chicks! There should have been more hot chicks, though.

I've always sort of had a thing for Asians. Not really in a sexual sense, exactly... I like the (obviously this is a generalization) delicacy of their features, accentuated further in some cultures by a delicacy of behavior. Just kind of different. Women of every race can be pretty, but I think some of the most beautiful and delicate-looking women I've seen have generally been Indian and Asian.

Haha.  That video is so funny.  Aside from the hot Korean women, my favorite part is when they are in the elevator.

I totally didn't get the deal behind the video and song and couldn't understand why people were so into it.  Then I saw a youtube video where a ton of the comments were people who hate it hard.  "Koreans eat dogs", "Brit pop is so much better".  I like it so much more now.
