Cobra, the little one zips around the place so fast. He likes to speak in big, long sentences--very cheeky. He's obsessed with trucks, sticks, and stones! I swear, I've never had to chase so many tow trucks and garbage trucks in my life!

It's going. First semester back to school is over and went well. Just had two of my short stories published. My life is as screwy as ever, but never boring. Except for the boring bits.

I gather married life and motherhood are treating you well?

Que--HAHA!! Those two jobs--wife and mother--are the most challenging, frustrating, hair-pulling roles I've ever had to deal with. So treating me well isn't exactly how I would put it.

And yeah, I can imagine the wife/mother gig is a rough one. I certainly wouldn't wish it on anybody! I trust that you're up to the challenge, though, so I hope it's been fulfilling.

It's weird to see "Merry Christmas!" There are so many Jewish people in South Florida it is taboo to say that here. I see cars driving around with menorahs on top of them.

Seriously? I guess I grew up in a place where they have the longest Christmas season. So, I especially miss being home during Christmas.

Where I live now, it's rare to hear "Merry Christmas" It's usually Mele Kalikimaka or Happy Holidays.

I always think of that scene when the song comes up. Anyway, I come from a place with a long Christmas season too, from the 24th of December to the 6th of January (epiphany, 3-Kings day). Childhood there was sweet during the holidays.

Also, apparently all the GOOD baby toys make noise.

Anyhow, we're up for a quick cup of joe and a shower, then we're making the 2 hour drive to Beth's grandmother's house. Presumably where Willa will get even more things that make noise.

went to the park so the kid could chase the baby ducks in and out of the pond! that's how i spent christmas evening. then went home and made tortilla pizza.
