Mostly positive though. Unlike Thief and Castlevania LOS2, which were all the way from 3/10 to 9/10.

I'm playing it and if you're a South Park fan it is a hilarious. I'm sure someone who's no too familiar with South Park will still get a kick out of it but it is definitely made with the fans in mind "CHINPOKOMON!!" The most amazing part is how accurate the visuals are in representing the show. It really looks like you're playing an episode. At 14+ hours of gameplay it may as well be Season 18 re-purposed into a game.

Keep in mind, the game is explicit, as one would expect from anything "South Park." What's particularly funny is how much it pokes fun at gaming conventions:

Cartman: Clyde you have to wait your turn.
Clyde: That's lame.
Cartman: I know it's lame, Clyde, but that's how they did it in olden days so that's how we're going to fucking do it!

Cartman: Using your ability takes Power Points or PP for short.
Clyde: Heh heh "Pee Pee!"
Cartman: IF YOU HAVE A BETTER FUCKING NAME FOR IT THEN FUCKING SAY IT, CLYDE!

I'm enjoying it immensely.

the gist i get from the people i know that have bought it is that it's an excellent fan service.  Will be little-to-no replay value.

Given this is an Obsidian game + from what I read on some of the reviews - how buggy and/or broken is it? :P

Little to no replay value describes pretty much every game to me these days.   Fuck, I'm lucky if I can finish them once.

I haven't experienced any particular bugs so far but some people are reporting strange stuff like characters drifting and out of sync audio. Nothing game-breaking so far though.

I haven't finished it yet but I've also heard that it's "one time around is enough" kind of game.

Couldn't have put it more beautifully.

I have so many games backlogged, pretty much most games for me wind-up w/ only one playthrough.

I like little to no replay value. I want that from certain games, but for the rest who has the time.

After becoming acquainted with the game's structure and mechanics I can safely say it's fun for a go, another turn doesn't yield the same fun factor because of the monotony. In terms of the combat system, it's practically a rip-off of Costume Quest, keep that aside from the whole "kids playing dress-up" theme.
