I'm still not entirely sure how this will go. My fear is that it will mark the end of an era (a very good era, one I followed from the very beginning). I think about Sega, and I cringe. Once the core gets abandoned, it's like pouring paint in the ocean. Sega was never as established in the home market as Nintendo was, though. That may make all the difference, as will Nintendo's decisions on their core market. Hope springs eternal, even if their last console almost killed it.

they seem to know abandoning hardware would kill them. That's a good sign, maybe. Things can change in a big hurry depending on where the money flows.
