Guys, sorry, it's been so hectic so I didn't get a chance before, but we're in Canada. Hurrah! Looking for an apartment now.

Looking for an apartment. Unfortunately it is student season. Called 50 places today. Nothing available. We'll move in with Ren.

Awesome! So glad you guys made it. Sucks about the apartments, but I'm sure something will turn up soon. I mean it's Canada, how many people can actually want to live there?  :-[

My wife says I seem so comfortable in this country, and I do. I felt so alien in Pakistan these last fourteen years.

It's harder to get emancipated than you'd think. Especially for a 12 year old.

We are both really liking it here. She is having a great time. She can just walk around the neighborhood with the baby every day and it is a freedom that is refreshing for us.

At the same time it all feels a bit surreal. Sometimes it feels really normal like I never left and doesn't feel unusual at all. Sometimes it feels amazing to have this new life. I guess it hasn't really hit a part of me yet.

No doubt it will all start to feel a little more normal once you guys get more settled and spend a little time there. I'm glad you guys made it, you deserve some peace and quiet after all the stuff you've had to go through.
